Privacy
Last updated 10 October 2026
The game collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no ads and nothing that tracks you, and your saves stay on your device. This website counts its visits with a cookie, and keeps your email address only if you ask it to.
This covers Big In Belgium, the game, on every platform it's sold on, and this website, biginbelgium.com.
The game
- There are no accounts. You don't sign up for anything, and the game never asks who you are.
- There are no ads, no analytics and nothing that follows you around the internet.
- Your saves are kept on your device, in the game's own folder. Nothing in them is sent to me or to anyone else.
- The game doesn't need the internet to play, and it doesn't use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.
Cloud saves and achievements
Once cloud saves arrive, they go through the platform you got the game from, using that platform's own service and account, not mine. Achievements work the same way. I never see your saves or your account.
Buying the game
Steam, Google Play and the App Store handle the buying, under their own privacy policies. I don't get your card details or your address.
This website
Apart from the visit counter's cookie, this site sets no cookies. Its fonts and pictures all come from here, not from anyone else's servers. Two things on it do use someone else's servers: the visit counter and the email sign-up, both below.
The site is hosted on Microsoft's Azure Static Web Apps. Like all web servers, Microsoft's keep ordinary request logs, which include IP addresses, to run the service and keep it safe.
Counting visits
The site counts its visits with PostHog, on PostHog's servers in Frankfurt. It records the pages you look at and what you click on them, the site or link that sent you, your browser, system and kind of device, the language and time zone they're set to, your screen size, how long you stayed, and roughly where you are, worked out from your IP address. It doesn't record what you type into the sign-up.
To tell when you come back, it sets a cookie and keeps a random number in your browser. It doesn't know who you are, and your IP address itself isn't kept. You can clear or block the cookie in your browser's settings, and the site works just the same.
The email sign-up
If you ask for news, your email address is kept for me by EmailOctopus, on servers in Ireland. I use it for one thing: an email when there's news about the game. I don't pass it on to anyone.
- Nothing goes on the list until you say so twice. You get an email first, and you're only on the list once you press the link in it.
- Every email has a link at the bottom to unsubscribe, and it takes you off at once. EmailOctopus keeps the address marked as unsubscribed, so it can never be added back by mistake.
- If you'd rather it went altogether, email feedback@biginbelgium.com and I'll delete it, with everything EmailOctopus has recorded about it.
- EmailOctopus records when you signed up and confirmed. Nothing else is counted: not whether you open the emails, and not whether you press their links.
- The part of the form that sends your address is loaded from EmailOctopus's servers, and only once you start typing. Until then, the page asks them for nothing.
Children
The game collects nothing from anyone, children included. The email sign-up is for people aged 16 and over.
If this changes
If the game ever starts collecting anything, or the website starts collecting more, this page will say so first, with the date at the top.
Questions
Email feedback@biginbelgium.com. It's also where to ask me to delete your address from the email list.
That's the lot. It's short because there's not much to tell.
